Dr. Gunnell is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at Carleton University. She studies factors related to behaviours and mental health across various populations including youth and young adults. In an effort to better understand how to enhance mental health through physical activity and screen time, she is particularly interested in psychological needs (e.g., competence, autonomy, and relatedness) and motivation as mechanisms for change.
