The Role of the Student Support Worker at St.Thomas Aquinas CHS

Our Student Support Worker, Christine Bourdon is available to provide assistance for students at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic High School.

Mme. Bourdon is available to provide supportive consultations, referrals to community agencies and crisis interventions for students experiencing social/emotional and/or behavioural concerns. Student Support Workers can provide prevention programming, classroom observations, mediation and skill building for students. Our Student Support Worker will provide parents with information about agencies, services and programs within their community setting, referrals to outside agencies and support for those who may be experiencing difficulty with their child.

For teachers, Mme. Bourdon will provide supportive interventions to meet the needs of the student in the classroom by providing strategies to deal with problematic issues, mediation, crisis intervention, resources and will support teachers in the implementation and tracking of student's programs.
